Grade 5- Molecules in Action

Students will explore how atoms join together and how molecular movement determines the three states of matter. Through hands-on activities, they will create molecular models and track atomic rearrangements during chemical reactions, deepening their understanding of fundamental chemistry concepts.

Gr. 4- Mischievous Magnets

Students will explore the fundamental principles of magnetism. They will observe the gravity-defying effects of magnets & use compasses to gain a better understanding of how humans benefit from the Earth’s magnetic force. Hands-on experimenting, from swinging compasses, magnetize paper clips to motorized devices, allows them to explore the role of magnetism in our everyday lives.

Grade 5- Astronomical Phenomena

Students will explore the fascinating events that occur in the sky, including solar & lunar eclipses & moon phases. They will learn how the positions of the Sun, Earth, & Moon create these predictable and spectacular celestial events. They watch a model comet form out of household materials in class. They explore the lenses & mirrors in telescopes help us see faint space objects that are far away.

Grade 4- Stars and Satellites

Expanding beyond our solar system, students will investigate the stages of stellar life cycles—from the birth of a star to last stage. Through engaging visuals and activities, students will learn about constellations. They will explore space technologies such as satellites, used on Earth & their impact on daily life, including how satellites support weather forecasting & telecommunications.

Gr. 4- Healthy Habitats

Students will learn about carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, populations, & communities. They will see how even small changes in nature can lead to massive effects. We will demonstrate how energy moves through a food chain and explain why some is lost at every stage. Students will understand how & why a habitat can support only a limited number of organisms.

Grade 6- Space Spectacular

Students will explore the celestial bodies of our Solar system and the various demands and challenges that astronauts face in space. They will investigate asteroid impacts, meteors and the composition of comets. They will examine technologies used to gather knowledge about planets and other objects in space through hands-on learning.

Gr. 5- Air & Aerodynamics

Students will explore the four fundamental forces that affects flight—lift, weight, thrust, & drag. Through interactive demonstrations they will discover how each force plays a specific role & how balance between them allows aircraft to take off, stay in the air, & land safely. They will build different airplanes & test them to observe how changes in design affect distance, speed, & stability.
