Gr. 3- Forces Acting On!

The students prove the laws of motion and experiment with friction, inertia, and gravity. They'll learn about contact and non-contact forces, including magnetism and static electricity. By conducting simple experiments, they will see how these forces influence objects in both visible and invisible ways. This workshop help them connect abstract scientific concepts to real-world phenomena.

Gr. 2- Plant & Animal Changes

Students will explore the diversity of the natural world by learning the differences between mammals, insects, reptiles, and plants. The workshop introduces the cyclical nature of life using examples, helping students see how living things grow, change, and interact over time. They will explore animal growth and life stages, observing patterns in development and adaptation.

Gr. 3- Change Matters

Students find out what differentiates a solid from a liquid and identify states of matter as solid, liquid & gas. They will examine water properties, gaining an understanding of evaporation, precipitation and condensation. They will experiment with combining solids and liquids to create useful substances, discovering practical applications of mixtures and solutions in daily life.

Gr. 3- Moving Machines

Students discover how simple machines – including gears and wheels and axles, are useful design tools for mechanical engineers. They build a motorized vehicle using Lego Bricks and learn how to optimize it. They use gears, wheels and axles to reduce friction and make work easier. This program engages children in hands-on engineering, and principles of physics and design.

Gr. 2- Lights On!

Students will investigate how light travels and behaves when it meets different surfaces. They will observe how light bounces off mirrors, changing direction in predictable ways, and how prisms bend light as it passes through, sometimes even separating it into different colours. These hands-on activities will help them understand how light can reflect, refract, or continue in a straight path.

Gr. 2- Mad Materials and Structures

Students will identify natural and human-made structures and learn the importance of choosing the right materials for the job. Through hands-on activities and demonstrations, they will explore different materials used for strength, stability, and durability. This workshop encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity by testing different materials for different purposes.
